Marissa O’Guinn Dahl is a filmmaker and community organizer, with over 10 years of experience in narrative films, documentaries, and commercials. In 2021, she collaborated with Afro House as director of photography and editor on the short film "Kojo Astronaut", with excerpts screening on PBS as well as the Rise film series. Later in the year, her work as director of photography on the documentary "Breathing Black" screened at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum and earned "Best Baltimore Film" at Baltimore International Black Film Festival in 2022.
Marissa has created multiple award-winning short films earning the Warner Brothers Film Award, Adrienne Shelly Film Award, recognition as a Fusion Film Festival Finalist, and Saul Zaentz Fellow. While living in New York City, she worked in distribution on the feature documentary Nursery University, which premiered on Showtime and received a B.A. in film production from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Marissa is based in Baltimore, MD where her work in post production has won multiple Telly Awards for editing and visual effects.
